as promised... my one year anniversary blog post! :)
so we started off like any other Sunday where i go over to his place for HIMYM marathons and lots of food. Like sure, we want the day to be different and special... but still remember all our simple pleasures in life right? :) so here's it...
our maggi mee with two eggs. my way of trying not to eat too much- so share!

so i was at work the day before where i saw this huge bouquet of roses held by this floral delivery guy walking into my office. and i was thinking "is it really me this time or is it going to be a wrong delivery again?"
the story is like this: a few months back, i got this other bouquet of flowers and had all the students who were outside my office cheer and tease, etc. you can imagine the scene. only for me to open the card and think "this isn't right, Anthony doesn't call me ______" Then, i looked at the receipt and realized that it wasn't mine. LOL. Signed for a bouquet of flowers not meant for me but a colleague with a rather similar name. So i had to be the delivery woman instead and send it to the right recipient. Hahaha... embarrassing? Yeah to a certain extend- but it was truly so funny.
So back to my story, yeah so this time it was correctly mine! :D
Seriously, it's like he never gives up surprising me and hey! I love surprises. So, evidently i was super touched.
and then he got me this really pretty Swarovski earrings. So now it's like my permanent earrings, the way my neck holds the necklace he got me months ago permanently as well. :) though i did forget to wear it that day because i took it off the day before when i went to the gym. :(
Me and my new earrings.
I decided to get him roses too. Who said girls can't be the one giving them to guys right? :P
Got them in red wrapped in black because it's his favorite color combo. The way pink + black is mine. Don't ask me why i got one white one. I don't know why i thought it'll be nicer.
I named this his Random Box of surprise. Holds his LKY book (which is as thick as Harry Potter- and no shocker on which i'll rather read), a photo album, a comic book i drew for him, and cup cakes. In case you were wondering why it's so Mickey-fied it's because we had this Mickey Minnie thing after i started talking to him in this Minnie Mouse voice one day and then it stuck. And hey, Mickey + Minnie stuff are so easy and convenient to find. :)
Finally came dinner time, and the final surprise. I didn't know where we were eating until we reached there. I only knew it was going to be at MBS- coz he needed help with gps (which i think i'm a lot better at now if i might add, haha!)
What a splendid surprise. I was on the same level as the famous pool at MBS!
I'm a little 'katak di bawah tempurung'.
Someday i shall go swim in that pool too. But as for now, dinner on the same floor on a perfect day works so much better. :)
we started off with complimentary bread- at least i think they were complimentary because they kept asking us if we want more. I would have taken as much as i could coz it was really yummy and had all sorts of flavors, only... i didn't want to be too full before the main course.
JQ’s Signature
Foie Gras xiao long bao
鹅肝小笼包
JQ is Justin Quek, the chef. I was like " For the price, this better be so much better than Crystal Jade's." And hey, it was! It was like all Chinese food yumminess all wrapped in one.
And then came my soup... which most people close to me know i can't do without. Looking at the menu i was thinking Mushroom Cappucino sounds kind of odd. But if it's a signature dish, it's a must right?
JQ's Signature Fresh Mushroom Cappuccino JQ 招牌蘑菇汤
and danggg! It was awesome! Who would have thought Mushroom soup and Cappucino will taste so good together? It was basically Mushroom Soup tasting, but as you drink it you can smell this tinge of amazing Cappuccino. I don't know if it makes any sense by the way i'm saying. But it's completely worth it.
and our main courses....
Pan-grilled 300 days grain-fed Angus beef and sautéed Maine lobster medallion in Asian black pepper sauce 香煎谷饲安格斯牛排配龙虾黑椒汁
I had mine in medium rare- as usual. It was really really good- though a part of me couldn't help comparing it to the last one i ate with the bf also at MBS which i sorta preferred a little more and also the incredible Japanese wagyu i had last month.. But hey don't mind me- taking those two off the account, this was awesome on it's own too.
and the bf had Slow roasted U.S. Colorado lamb rack
Cumin flavoured baby carrots, smoked aubergine,
Sichuan pepper au jus 慢烤美国科罗拉多州羊肋排配茴香味胡萝卜烟熏茄子及四川胡椒汁
It was good too, but i'm more of a steak person anyway. So yeah...
The rest of the menu can be found
here!
and now for the view from the balcony... This was just a few meters away from the MBS pool. :)
Check out the view! Splendid. The wind, air and view makes you feel invincible and special for that moment. Like "WOW *BREATHE*" Singapore is a beautiful city, without a doubt.
Thank you Baby for making my one year memory perfect.
Words cannot describe how grateful and blessed i feel to have you in my life.
Cheers to the past, present and i really hope- future. :)
